SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: STYLE DIVISION

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: STYLE DIVISION

It’s not easy to define Anton Dvorakovsky. Working in digital marketing for luxury fashion and travel brands while also running Style Division – lifestyle, fashion, photography and tech blog – pretty much describes our idea of work hard, play hard. You can spot him at the craziest festivals one day and at a VR demo the next. Trust us, he’s got the best stories to tell! Through Style Division, Anton brings his readers the latest style trends, street photography and technology related to fashion and retail. Functioning as a standalone site for over 2 years, Style Division has been involved in a number of projects with brands such as Zara, Hard Graft, flydubai, Alexander McQueen and Logitech, to name a few. Before #INTERLACED2015, where Anton will join as a speaker and official blogger, we caught up with him for a short interview.  How do you define fashion tech? Anton: It’s the partnership of two important disciplines – fashion and technology. Even though they stand on opposite ends of the spectrum (fashion is cool and hip whilst technology might be seen as geeky) over the last couple of years both have progressed and intertwined in ways nobody could have imagined. What excites you about this emerging industry?  Anton: The fast nature of fashion is complemented perfectly by the development of new and emerging technologies. A few years ago it was simply impossible to create an accessory with sensors and beacons for a reasonable price and yet in 2015 it’s not uncommon to see wearables on people’s wrists. The adoption and understanding of technologies among the public is also growing quickly. You’re no longer...

BLOGGER SPOTLIGHT: EMILY FASHION

Another day, another fabulous blogger who’s excited about the merge of fashion and technology. Straight off her CuteCirtuit fittings for #INTERLACED2015, Emily shares views on fashion tech.  How do you define fashion tech? Emily: I would define fashion tech as a new and upcoming movement that connects the two most influential parts of our life – fashion and technology. What excites you about this emerging industry?  Emily: The thing that excites me the most about this industry is that it has such a big target audience. Both young and older generations have interest in fashion as it’s something essential for every one of us. We also have unstoppable in technology because we’re so dependent on it nowadays. I believe it is an industry that can appeal to everyone, there are no boundaries within this market. How do you think technology is changing fashion?  Emily: It is definitely changing fashion in a way people couldn’t have imagined. If you think about watches, they are a major part for an outfit looking whole, most people have a go-to watch that they wear on a daily basis, and this is a prime example of wearable technology. The way wearable technology is evolving is incredible, you can now have so much more than this. These ideas were unimaginable before. Think about how much this can evolve in the next few years! What is your dream fashion tech product / wearable?  Emily: I would say my dream fashion tech product would be a pair of high heels that could act as a phone. I am always accidentally leaving my phone somewhere on nights out as...
BLOGGER SPOTLIGHT: THE STYLE PETAL

BLOGGER SPOTLIGHT: THE STYLE PETAL

One of the main reason why INTERLACED was set up in the first place was to communicate the notion of fashion tech to the wider public and people who might not have come across it before. To do this, we have found our perfect partners in crime – some of the leading fashion, style and tech influencers. In these features we will be introducing our official INTERLACED bloggers. Enjoy!   WHO? Primrose has been on and off blogging since I she 14, when she first noticed blogging becoming more integrated and on the rise. The Style Petal began because after years of regularly keeping track of bloggers and a particular issue of Elle UK, Primrose began to feel ready to start blogging again. Her Instagram feed was slowly clogging up with daily outfits and latest purchases and she felt that, although the social network was a great platform,  she needed somewhere to talk more in depth. Primrose has recently finished a two year extended diploma in performing arts and split her time between blogging, acting and being a drama practitioner. HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE FASHION TECH? Primrose: To me, fashion tech are the two most pivotal things in our lives coming together to enhance and innovate the way we live. It’s a ground breaking collaboration between fashion, personal style, self expression and one thing which is advancing everyday – technology! WHAT EXCITED YOU ABOUT THIS EMERGING INDUSTRY? Primrose: Whether it’s everyday wear, avant garde or sports clothing – there are many unspoken ‘rules’ within societies and countries silently dictating the way we should dress. Fashion tech is a relatively new and unexplored venture...
