SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: FORMBYTIME

Among the established fashion tech pioneers who will take part in INTERLACED 2015, we are extremely excited to welcome a range of emerging companies and fresh talents who are not afraid to experiment, push their boundaries and redefine fashion. FORMBYTIME is one of them. THE COMPANY FORMBYTIME was established in 2013 in Vienna by Leonhard Peschta and his father Michael Peschta. The family heritage is steeped in the jewellery making tradition and now spans three generations of jewellers. Leonhard’s grandfather Karl Peschta set up his own studio in the 1930s after having studied under the guidance of Josef Hoffman, one of the founders of Wiener Werkstätte. His son Michael took over the family business in 1980 and continued it with a commitment to careful craftsmanship. With FORMBYTIME Leonhard and Michael Peschta pursue to develop jewellery objects that combine traditional workmanship with the ideas and concepts of contemporary art. A Media Arts graduate with a vast experience in building machines within an artistic context, Leonhard’s approach to jewellery design is informed by his fascination with mechanics and the aesthetics of automate movement.   THE COLLECTION The electromechanical pieces can change their form, capturing the aesthetics of motion and allowing the wearer to interact with the jewellery. They are made of precious metals and are connected to the wearer’s mobile device via Bluetooth. The jewellery objects represent the attempt to expand the idea of jewellery by incorporating the possibility of movement. The collection unites technical sophistication with minimalistic aesthetic elegance. Each piece is designed and produced in the family’s jewellery atelier in Vienna. The first collection is available in platinum- or...

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: RARE PINK

As the song goes.. Diamonds are Forever. And no one knows that better than INTERLACED speaker Nikolay Piriankov, CEO of bespoke jewellery retailer Rare Pink. Nikolay is based in Rare Pink’s London office, working with designers and manufacturers to desgin and ship beautiful jewellery to its customers that hold lasting memories. The company designs, crafts and delivers unique engagement rings where the customer has been apart of the ring creation. Where’s the link with tech, you might ask? Rare Pink leverages 3D printing to be able to scale what was previously an unscalable segment of the jewellery industry. The company’s focus on innovation and technology in its products and online, together with a global presence and supply chain, allows Rare Pink to compete on price with the competition and to offer a unique product and customer experience. Rare Pink are proudly different in the way they make all their rings and inspire their customers to get involved in the design process. What makes them different? Rare Pink love rare pink diamonds so much so that they named the company after them! That’s not all. To share this passion with everyone, upon request Rare Pink can craft your ring with a pink diamond set in it. Every ring comes with your very own pink sapphire, free of charge. You can have it set in your ring or included with your order separately. What a treat! Nikolay shares that Rare Pink does not sell a product, but rather an entire experience. Creating something beautiful and unique requires the customers’ input just as much as it requires the Rare Pink diamonds and craftsmanship. The company hopes that its customers become advocates...
